Meghan Markle & Prince Harry: All You Need To Know About The Royal Wedding

Actress Meghan Markle is all set to tie the knot with Prince Harry on Saturday at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. With just a few hours remaining, the international media, especially the British ones, have turned their focus on the wedding of the year.

It is needless to say that the British media is a tad bit obsessed with their royalty and who doesn’t like a fairy tale wedding. Remember Diana and Charles? Kate and William?

The Kensington Palace Twitter handle is already giving live updates on the cake for the ceremony, the choir boys.

The BBC reports  that over millions of people across the globe are expected to watch the ceremony live on television.

BBC’s special royal correspondent Jonny Dymond: “Every royal wedding is different. But every royal wedding is an opportunity, in some way, to relaunch the Royal Family. From small things, like the cake (not a traditional big heavy fruitcake covered with bullet-proof icing), to bigger things, like a gospel choir performing at the service. To more remarkable decisions, like the invitation to 1,200 members of the public to enjoy the occasion in the grounds of Windsor Castle.”

CNN has a special edition dedicated for the wedding with details on the ceremony, the venue, schedule, about the ceremony, the guest list and the visitors to bless the couple. They have even given out details on the dress, photographers and the food that will be served. As per their reports, the evening reception after the wedding will see artistes like Elton John and Ed Sheeran performing to entertain the guest and the newlyweds.

As per The Guardian, the streets are already crowded and the hotels are full. A large security operation saw police manning barricades outside the castle, sniffer dogs and snipers on the roofs of high-street buildings. As per their report, the ceremony will also see Lady Jane Fellowes, the sister of the late Princess of Wales – Diana, do a rendition from the Song of Solomon.

The British daily Mirror shared a tweet from TV actor Patrick J Adams who co-stars with Meghan Markle in the show Suits. 

People magazine breaks down the Order of Service and the ceremonial on-goings. Like how Prince Charles helped pick the opening music to not to have the “You may now kiss the bride!” moment. The Sun gives a report on the history of the chapel. The venue is the same church where Harry was christened. In recent years, Windsor Castle has also played host to Harry’s father Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall’s blessing after their civil ceremony in 2005.
