This happy song from a boys hostel scene in Petta is our song of the day as Rajinikanth fans all over celebrate 50 days of the film. Rajinikanth as Kaali is the warden of a hostel in Darjeeling where he deals with the antics of rowdy students. Music is by Anirudh who worked on a Karthik Subbaraj film for the first time. When the audio released he said he wanted Rajini and the team to have as much fun with the songs as his fans.
Rajini, his friends and the students are dancing simply with a guitar, a ukulele and other instruments. The song is celebratory much like the Baila form of music itself, with the occasion being nothing big but a Rajinikanth message asking us to see that there’s happiness all around. A hostel like that where things change quickly every minute, are a reminder that no sadness is permanent. The lyrics are simple yet that little insight makes it a perfect Rajini song to brighten the day.
