On Senthil’s birthday, our song of the day is ‘Hawa Hawa’, featured in the Senthil-Goundamani comedy scene where Senthil, supposed to be dead, brings the whole village outside his house with Goundamani coming to his rescue only to find him singing and dancing to ‘Awaa Awaa’.
Senthil’s Awaa Awaa move became his signature step, and the tune from Aap Ke Liye Hum became popular among Tamil people. The song has been used for many remakes, one of them being Aap Ke Liye Hum. Pakistani pop singer Hasan Jahangir released ‘Hawa Hawa Khushboo Luta De’ in 1987, and never expected it would continue to be a rage decades later.
