Naanum Rowdy Dhaan directed by Vignesh Shivan has generated much interest for several reasons. There’s the first time collaboration between the lead cast, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. There were the (now squashed) rumours about Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan dating (some even said married). There’s the collaboration between producer Dhanush and music director Anirudh. And there’s the fact that Anirudh’s music in Naanum Rowdy Dhaan is being called his best album to date.
Both Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara sport vastly different looks in the film. Vijay minus his trademark beard. Both Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi also worked hard to look younger for their parts. Vijay Sethupathi plays Pandi, someone who wants to be a ‘rowdy’. He has even decorated his room with estimates like, ‘Hand Breaking – Rs.10,000’, ‘Leg Breaking – 15,000’, ‘Strictly 18+’ and so on. Nayanthara plays Kadambari, a hearing impaired girl in search of a rowdy. She wants revenge on a person she hates, namely Parthiban. RJ Balaji brings more comic relief, and an improved acting performance. who says that he has improved as an actor in this film. Slated for an October 21 release, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’s trailer has already become popular among youngsters.
