Director Nalan Kumarasamy, who stepped into the movie industry with the witty Soodhu Kaavum in 2013, is back with a romantic drama, Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum. Reportedly, the film is based on a Korean movie, My Dear Desperado.
Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum has Vijay Sethupathi and Premam fame Madonna Sebastian in the lead roles, and Santhosh Narayanan has scored the tunes. A charming teaser of the film was released on Monday. The montage opens with a stunning silhouette of Madonna waiting at a railway station, and Santhosh Narayanan’s rustic and energetic music starts seeping into the background slowly. Apparently, Madonna plays an IT employee in the film. In the teaser, she is seen clicking selfies with hostel room mates, and travelling in Chennai’s MRTS trains.
DoP Dinesh Krishnan has, by far, done a great job – The teaser has beautiful shots, amped-up by impressive colour-grading. The trailer hints that Vijay Sethupathy plays a middle-class guy in Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum. The actor, who has never appeared in dance sequences so far, is seen shaking a leg to a very folk ‘Ka Ka Ka Po‘ song in the teaser.
