Rangasthalam‘s teaser is out, with Telugu actor Ram Charan playing a role that he’s perhaps never attempted before. Playing the role of Chitti Babu, the village engineer, Ram Charan appears more animated than ever. Chitti Babu has hearing impairment but acknowledges his disability as ‘being able to see sounds instead’, thus called ‘sound engineer’ by all the villagers.
Directed by Sukumar, it is a period film set in a village, with the leads reportedly playing specially-abled characters. The film also stars Samantha Akkineni, Adhi Pinnisetty as Chitti Babu’s brother, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Gauthami, and music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad.

Owing to its rural setting, the film has been shot in Rajahmundry, around the Godavari river belt. According to a report in The Indian Express, the makers had considered titles like Repalle, Palletoori Premalu, Palleturi Monagadu, before zeroing in on the current one.
Produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and Mohan Cherukuri under Mythri Movie Makers banner, the film is slated for a March 30 release.
