Actress Raashi Khanna has reportedly been approached to play the female lead in Varun Tej’s next, directed by Venky Atluri. With Mehreen Kaur recently opting out of the film, Raashi appears to be the likely choice now.

A source has told Deccan Chronicle, “Raashi has been on a roll ever since she firmly resolved to do films that give her visibility. She has been listening to a lot of stories, but is taking it slow. This new film came across as an opportunity to connect to a whole new set of audiences and she didn’t want to say no.”
A romantic comedy, the film reportedly has music by DSP, and was slated to go on floors last year.
Thus far, Raashi has signed a couple of projects in Tamil and is also making her Malayalam debut alongside Mohanlal soon. Varun’s last film was Mister with Lavanya Tripathi and Hebah Patel. He is currently filmingFidhaa with Sai Pallavi, directed by Sekhar Kammula.
