Hyderabad Drug Racket: Charmme Kaur Files Petition In High Court

Telugu actress Charmme Kaur, who is currently embroiled in the drug racket in Hyderabad, has approached the High Court. In her petition, Charmme makes it clear that she wants to be questioned only in the presence of her lawyers, and by women officers alone.

She also requests the High Court that her blood, nail and hair samples should not be taken during the questioning without her permission.

Charmme, along with a few other film personalities, were sent notices two weeks ago to appear for questioning by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the enforcement wing of the excise and prohibition department.

Last week, her father, Deep Singh Uppal, vouched for his daughter’s innocence, adding that the actress has been taking care of the entire family since she started working, and continues to be a strong pillar of support.

The others who received notices are Puri Jagannadh, P Navdeep, Tarun Kumar, A Tanish, P Subbaraju, Mumait Khan, cinematographer Shyam K Naidu, singer Ananda Krishna Nandu and art director Chinna N Dharmarao. Actor Ravi Teja, too, is reportedly under the scanner, because of his recently-deceased brother Bharath’s run-in with drugs and the police in the past.
