Acting Likely To Take A Backseat For Pawan Kalyan As He Begins His Political Tour

His political outfit, Jana Sena Party, was formed in 2014. The actor, whose last film Agnyaathavaasi released on Sankranthi, recently said that he is likely to give up acting and focus on the next assembly election in Telangana.

“Movies are out of my mind. Right now, the focus is on politics,” he reportedly said.

This decision was perhaps hastened by the poor performance of his latest film. In fact, Agnyaathavaasi is embroiled in copyright issues with French director Jerome Salle alleging that the plot has been heavily lifted from his 2014 film Largo Winch.

The actor started his three-day tour, ‘Chalo re Chalo re Chal’ of Telangana on Monday. From Hyderabad, he travelled to Kondagattu and then Karimnagar where he addressed the party workers, according to Hindustan Times. The report added that Pawan Kalyan will also tour parts of Andhra Pradesh like Anantpur, Visakhapatnam, Ongole later.

Saying that he would only “play constructive politics”, the actor said that the party would contest from those seats where the chances of winning are high.
