‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ Trailer Review: Sunglass Style and Exaggeration

Amar Akbar Anthony gets the Ravi Teja treatment, and so, one gets to see many sunglass-wearing villains, foreign locales and a female lead who calls herself Mother Teresa but has control issues. So what does the psychologist suggest? A dose of falling in love with the wrong guy.

Such a diagnosis is perhaps not widely accepted by mental health professionals, but for Ravi Teja’s Anthony and Ileana D’Cruz’s Mother Teresa, this seems to hold good.

Since one Ravi Teja spouting absurd medical advice is not enough fun, we get two more. Amar – the deadly don, and Akbar – an overtly exaggerated character who seems to be created with a lot of LOLs in mind.

With three heroes, one needs villains. The more the merrier. And so director Strenuous Vaitla gives us one baddie after another. All in slick suits and stylish sunglasses. Will they dirty their hands by actually fighting, though?

That’s probably the kind of quandary that Dr Mark Anthony will prescribe a nice love affair for.

Also coming in a little extra in the film’s trailer that thrives on such things is the snow globe, real snow and charming shots of white people celebrating snow days. If this didn’t convince you that the film is set abroad, then Ravi Teja’s exaggerated foreign accent is bound to.
