Nivin Pauly has been roped in to star in a new Tamil film. Director Atlee, who recently launched his ‘A For Apple Productions’, will bankroll the project, and former assistant Suryaa Balakumaran will direct. A spokesperson for Atlee tells us that the project will be a lighthearted entertainer, and will start filming soon. “Suryaa is like family to Atlee, and has assisted him right from the beginning. When he came up with an interesting storyline, it felt like the right fit for Atlee’s production house. This film will be a very spirited one, and with Nivin onboard, it is going to be even more so.”
Nivin too seems excited about the project. He took to social media to share news of it with his fans.

This film will be the second production for Atlee, and the third direct Tamil film for Nivin Pauly. His first film Sangili Bungili Kathava Thorae, with Jiiva and Sri Divya, has wrapped up filming and is currently in the post-production stage.
Meanwhile, Nivin is busy filming the Tamil remake of the Kannada film Ulidavaru Kandanthe, directed by Gautham Ramachandran. Tentatively titled Santa Maria, the film is being shot in Tuticorin and has Natty Natraj, Lakshmipriya in important roles. Nivin has also signed up for a film with RD Raja’s production house 24 AM Studios and will collaborate with Anurag Kashyap on a new project.
