A Times Of India report suggests that the actress was ‘not comfortable sharing screen space with three other heroines — Regina, Pranitha and Aishwarya Rajesh— in the film’.

A source told ToI, “She was not comfortable doing a film that has a large female starcast. So, she opted out of the film.”

Meanwhile, Mumbai-based actress Aaditi Pohankar has been asked to replace Anandhi in the film. “Yes, she has been roped in to play her part and has already begun shooting for the film in Chennai,” adds the source.

Anandhi made her Tamil debut with Kayal. Since then she has appeared in Enakku Innoru Peru Irukku, Trisha Illana Nayanthara, and the National Award winning Visaaranai, to name a few. She starred alongside Atharvaa in the Sargunam film Chandiveeran.

She will next be seen in GV Prakash Kumar’s Kadavul Irukkan Kumaru, in which she shares screen space with actress Nikki Galrani.

Gemini Ganesanum Suruli Rajanum is directed by ‘Odam’ Ilavarasu, and will be co-produced by T Siva of Amma Creations, and 2MB & Big Print Pictures. The male lead was initially expected to be portrayed by actor Kalaiarasan. But the role eventually went to Atharvaa. Actor Soori provides comic relief, while Ilavarasu and Mayilsamy have been cast in supporting roles.
