Vaibhav’s next film is with debut director Chachi, who was an assistant to Viji (Vellithirai). The announcement of this romantic comedy comes on the heels of yet another Vaibhav-starrer – Taanaa.
According to a spokesperson for the actor, Vaibhav was the apt choice for the movie since the script demanded someone who could look and project innocence. “Chachi has been on the lookout for an actor and production house who would do justice to his script for over two years. That search ended with Vaibhav and Wallmate Production House respectively.”
Chachi, who served as Viji’s assistant for over a decade, had the script with him for many years. Though it may seem run of the mill now, but the film will have its unique take. “The film demands someone who can look like an innocent middle class guy. This is something Vaibhav sir can do, as we have seen in his previous films. He is very invested in this project and we are very excited to have him on board.”
Dinesh Kannan and Sridhar produce this film that is yet to have a female lead. Casting is on for various important roles in the project, following which an official announcement is expected.

A spokesperson for Dinesh and Sridhar told Silverscreen that the movie will be a treat for the masses. “The production house has complete faith in Chachi, who despite his debut status, has the assurance of a veteran film director. The script has many laugh out loud moments but its ultimate aim is to showcase romance as it unfolds in a middle class Tamil family.”
Vaibhav also has Kaateri, Taana – horror comedies. While he shares screen-space with Sonam Bajwa in Kaateri, he is cast opposite Nandhita Swetha in Taana.
He has also been cast in RK Nagar, directed by Saravana Rajan of Vadacurry fame.
