According to a Times of India report, Thakur has already started shooting for his portions in Chennai. “The team is planning a major action sequence abroad, featuring Suriya and Thakur, although they are yet to finalise the location. Initially, the team was looking to cast a Hollywood actor as the baddie, but they zeroed in on Thakur, thanks to his bodybuilder looks and unique features,’ a source was quoted as saying by TOI.

Model-turned-actor Thakur Anoop Singh made his acting début through the TV show Mahabharat (2013), in which he played the role of blind king Dhritarashtra. He is a bodybuilder and has won gold at the World Bodybuilding Championship in Thailand. He has also won the title of Mr. World after beating two Thai opponents in the finals, making him only the second Indian to do so. He is currently filming Telugu film Rogue, directed by Puri Jagannadh.

South Indian cinema continues it’s obsession over North Indian actors as villains even though they lack nativity. It started off as early as the early 2000s when the likes of Aashish Vidhyarthi, Atul Kulkarni and Pradeep Rawat were roped in to play villain in Tamil and Telugu movies. Slowly the trend picked up and we now have actors like Sonu Sood, Rahul Dev, Kabir Singh Duhan having a strong foothold as established villains in the industry.

S3, directed by Hari,, stars Suriya, Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan. Harris Jayaraj scores the music for the film. Shooting of the film began in January 2016 and is expected to release in November.
