I Was Tense About Filming Duets: Rajinikanth

The success of Lingaa‘s audio was celebrated in Hyderabad on Monday (December 8). Rajinikanth, Anushka, Sonakshi Sinha, Jagapati Babu, KS Ravikumar and Rathnavelu attended the event. Director KS Ravikumar revealed that Lingaa is the first Rajinikanth film to release on the Superstar’s birthday. Writer Pon Kumaran said that despite being a huge star, Rajinikanth rehearsed all his dance moves before the shoot. “We were shooting at Macau. One day before the shoot, Rajinikanth sir called the choreographer and practiced the routine. He got it right at the first take. I have never seen anyone as sincere as him,” he declared.

Speaking at the success meet, Rajinikanth said, “A lot of people have claimed that Lingaa is their story. On the other hand, I read on Twitter that many wondered if there would ever be a story in a Rajinikanth film for someone claim it their own. Twitter users would want to watch the film just to know if there’s a story,” he laughed. The Superstar dismissed the plagiarism charges stating that the tale was indeed written by Pon Kumaran.

Rajinikanth explained that he had to work really hard for Lingaa. “I was not nervous when I acted in Aboorva Raagangal. But I was very tense about appearing in duets with Anushka and Sonakshi. I think it’s God’s way of punishing a 60-year-old man, by making him dance for duets.” He ended his speech by saying that he aspires to do more films to please his fans.
