Vaibhav and Nandita Swetha will team up for a supernatural comedy titled Tanaa. Interestingly, both actors have been part of other horror comedies this year. Vaibhav has Kaateri, ready to release later this year, while Nandita has Selvaraghavan’s long-delayed Nenjam Marappathillai.
Producer Kalaimamani of Nobel Movies said that his decision to back yet another horror comedy after Kaateri, Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu, Hello Naan Pei Pesuren and others, was largely inspired by director Yuvaraj Subramani’s fresh approach to the story.
“Yuvaraj has a good story in mind and he knows how to convey it to the audience. Many people have recommended him to me and now, on interacting with him, I know that he will get the job done,” he told Silverscreen.
Kalaimamani said that there is no chance of Taana being overshadowed by the other supernatural comedies gearing up for release later this year. “The genre maybe the same but the story, its treatment and the characters are vastly different,” he added.

Apart from the leads, Yogi Babu and Pandiarajan have important roles. Yogi will appear throughout the movie while Pandirajan has a supporting role. Kalaimamani is excited to have these two actors in his film. “Yogi Babu is the fastest rising star in the industry. To have him face the screen along with Pandirajan, another comedy legend, is a rare coup. Their sense of comedy and comic timing is just explosive together. It makes for a wonderful on-screen combination,” he said.
Vishal Chandrasekhar composes the music and the background score for the film. GK Prasanna takes care of the editing while GRN Shiva is the cinematographer.
