T Rajendar returns to film direction with Indraya Kaadhal Da. Namitha plays a don in this film that explores new-age relationships and the impact it has on Tamil culture.
Speaking to Silverscreen, Rajendar said that he would be producing the film through his Simbu Cine Arts. As usual, Rajendar takes care of a host of film-related duties. He will be the film’s screenwriter, lyricist, music director, director as well as supervise the cinematography.
“I wish I had a thousand hands, but god has given me just two. So I have to make do,” he laughs.
The film is all about love and relationships. “Namitha plays a lady don but that’s not the important factor in this film. It will speak to the youth of today who fall in love on Instagram and break up on Whatsapp. There’s no one better than Namitha to play the lead role. Since her Bigg Boss stint, she has achieved renewed cult status with the youth and that will only add to the film.”
The male lead has not been finalised as yet, but Rajender does have plans to bring in and introduce a lot of new talent.
Veterans Radha Ravi, Ilavarasan, VTV Ganesh, Robo Shankar, Jegan will take on important roles in this film that was launched recently. Filming will begin shortly, TR added.

STR might not have a special appearance in the project. “He has a busy schedule so we don’t know at this point. But this is a family business and so we might just see him if he finds the time.”
Kuralarasan, who made his music debut with Idhu Namma Aalu, is not a part of the film either. “He should get more experience before I use him,” Rajendar said.
Farooq co-produces the film. A first-look poster is expected to be launched shortly.
