Sibiraj’s next – directed by Vinod of Naalaya Iyakkunar fame – has reportedly been titled Ranga. According to a Deccan Chronicle article, the title was inspired by Lord Ranganathan, a Hindu deity, known as “the one who protects”. Sibiraj and actress Nikhila play CG specialists in the movie.

“Since the hero protects and helps the heroine to come out of a major problem [sic], the movie has been titled Ranga; we have even sought permission from the original producer of Rajinikanth’s 1982 film Ranga,” DC quotes producer Vijay K Chellaiah as saying.
Actress Nikhila Vimal will play an “urban” character while Sibiraj’s character will have different shades to it. The team recently completed its Kashmir schedule where they shot some portions of the movie. The shooting will also take place in Chennai and Pollachi. Reportedly, the film will address a social issue.
Meanwhile, Sibiraj has Sathya, an action film in the pipeline. The project is being helmed by Pradeep Krishnamoorthy of Saithaan fame.
