Director P Vasu will direct the Tamil remake of the Kannada crime thriller Shivalinga, with Lawrence and Ritika Singh in the lead. Lawrence plays the lead role of Shiva, a detective who works on a murder case where the only eyewitness is a dove. The remake will be titled Shivalinga as well.
P Vasu had also written and directed the original, which had Shivrajkumar and Vedhika in the lead roles. The film recently completed a 100-day run at the theatres. P Vasu said that Ritika was chosen for the role after a screen test, and would be apt for the pivotal role.
P Vasu’s son, Shakthi Vasu, also has a key role in the film. Music director Thaman has been signed to compose for the film. The project will go on floors on July 14 in Bangalore.
