Rajinikanth’s Next Is With Karthik Subbaraj; Vijay Sethupathi Joins The Cast

On February 21, Kamal Haasan announced the name of his political party and a general party manifesto. Now, all eyes are on his fellow colleague and friend, Rajinikanth. The superstar will work with director Karthik Subbaraj for his next film hinting that the announcement of his political party will probably not come anytime soon. The film will be produced by Sun Network.

The recent addition to the cast is actor Vijay Sethupathi, who is rumoured to play the antagonist in the film. The actor had portrayed the role of Vedha, the supposed antagonist, in last year’s Vikram Vedha.

Meanwhile, on the political front, there is little known from Rajini’s side. Considering he has joined politics at the same time as his peer, Kamal Haasan, a lot is pegged on the superstar and his political ambitions.

MGR or  Vijayakanth, these stars gave up their acting career to join politics full time. Both Rajini and Kamal Haasan have quite a few movies lined up before they can devote their time to politics completely. Rajini has Kaala which will release on June 7, Shankar’s 2.0 which is likely to release later this year and now Karthik Subbaraj’s untitled project.  

Kamal has committed to two projects which are in the post-production stages: Vishwaroopam 2 and Sabaash Naidu, a spin-off on his character Balram Naidu from his earlier movie Desavatharam.

Given that these aspiring politician have set their eyes on the next Tamil Nadu Assembly election, they would have to wrap up their acting assignments soon and concentrate on making a political impact.
