In his petition, Karthikeyan accused SN Rajarajan of K Films, who holds the TN theatrical rights of Baahubali 2, of failing to repay a loan amount of Rs 1,48,00,000 that he’d procured to produce the Ashok Selvan-starrer Savaale Samaali. Karthikeyan alleged that Rajarajan sent him a cheque for the amount once, but when he attempted to cash it at a local bank, he found out that Rajarajan’s account had been deactivated. Following this, he sent a notice to Rajarajan through his lawyer, but did not receive a reply.

In his petition to the HC, Karthikeyan also sought a stay on the release of Enai Nokki Paayum Thota, Snow Time – all films produced by Rajarajan’s K Films.

Hearing the case, Justice Kalyanasundaram asked for a notice to be sent to Rajarajan’s K Films. He also postponed to case for four weeks, paving the way for Baahubali 2’s release.
