Nadigar Sangam Issue: Vishal Files Caveat Petition

Following the petition filed by actors Vishal, Nasser and Karthi to postpone the Nadigar Sangam elections which were scheduled to happen on July 15, the Madras High Court had ordered an interim stay on the same. The court had also directed the current president, actor Sarathkumar, to file a reply petition in two weeks.

But in a latest development, Vishal and Poochi Murugan have filed a caveat petition in the Madras High Court requesting the court not to pass any orders in the appeal raised by Sarathkumar, without hearing their arguments.

The Nadigar Sangam issue began from a difference of opinion between actors Vishal, Karthi, Nasser, Karunas and Ponvannan – and President R Sarathkumar and Secretary Radha Ravi. The former group expressed dissatisfaction over the new building to be erected in the land owned by Nadigar Sangam and also the disorganized election procedures in the Sangam. Vishal had recently opened up about the issue in an interview.

Nasser and R Sarathkumar are contesting for the post of President, while Vishal and Radha Ravi will be battling it out for the post of Secretary.
