“When I did music for films like Ennomo Nadakkudhu and Achchamindri, I told director Rajapandi to give me a sobriquet. I noticed that the prefixes given to AR Rahman as ‘Isai Puyal’ and to Deva sir as ‘Thenisai Thendral’ had something to do with weather (Puyal, Thendral). So, I suggested Tsunami, which is also weather related but a disaster. So, why not ‘Isai Tsunami’ Premgi? But he said you are doing good music. Why a disastrous title? So he made it ‘Isai Ilaval.’ Later Yuvan Shankar Raja released the first song of RK Nagar where he asked me to retain ‘Isai Tsunami’. My guru is Yuvan and hence I stick to that sobriquet from RK Nagar in the title credits,” he told Deccan Chronicle.

Amaren is also the music composer for the upcoming Party. The film has an ensemble cast headlined by the likes of Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan, Jai, Shiva, Regina Cassandra among others.
