Mickey J Meyer will compose the soundtrack of Mahanati, a biopic on the legendary Tamil actress Savitri, starring Keerthy Suresh. The composer told Deccan Chronicle that he finds the project more interesting than challenged. He said, “People ask if this is going to be challenging. I’d say every film is. This film is interesting more than challenging because of the premise.”
Meyer has already finished composing two songs for the film. One of the completed songs is the title track, he said.
“I like finishing the main songs in films first so that they are out of my way, and this one is the most important song in the film,” he added.

The film will have music that reflects the sensibilities of the time period Savitri lived in.
He further said, “I grew up with old songs, and have an understanding of the sensibilities of those times. The sound then was very different, as was the music. I have to keep that in mind as it is the main element.”
Meyer, who has known the director, Nagi, for a long time, said that things fell in place for the project while he was working with Shekhar Kammula.
