Kollywood Divided Over Producers Council’s Decision To Give Special Permission To Vijay’s ‘Thalapathy 62’ Team

On Tuesday, it was reported that despite the strike announced by the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TFPC), Vijay is shooting for Thalapathy 62, directed by AR Murugadoss, in Chennai.

The TFPC announced a complete shut-down in Tamil Nadu from March 16 onwards as a result of which no new Tamil movies are releasing and there are no film shooting taking place.

But the crew of Thalapathy 62 had special permission from the TFPC to shoot in Chennai’s Victoria Hall. Some filmmakers were miffed with the special treatment while others spoke in favour of Vijay.

First to react to this was the owner JSK Film Productions J Satish Kumar, he tweeted that he strongly opposes this decision taken by the council as it doesn’t unite everyone.


Later, Siddharth too tweeted displeasure.

Comedian and character artistes Karunakaran and Manobala have also reacted against this decision from the TFPC. Karunakaran tweeted this:


Soon after these comments were made, Vijay fans on Twitter started trolling them and questioning their authority.
