‘Kattappava Kaanom’ Release Postponed

Director Mani Seiyon’s next directorial Kattapava Kaanom has been postponed. The film, initially scheduled to release on December 30, has reportedly been delayed. Reports indicate that the Sibiraj – Aishwarya Rajesh starrer will now release in February 2017.

Silverscreen has learnt that the makers made the decision to delay, as the December 30 slot has already been taken over by two films – Parthiepan’s Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga, and Mo.

Mani Seiyon is a former associate of Eeram Arivazhagan. Actors Kaali Venkat, Mime Gopi and Livingston play supporting roles in this comic fantasy. The music is composed by Santhosh Dhayanidhi. And the movie is produced by Windchimes media entertainment.

Sibi Raj plays the role of an IT professional in this film while actress Aishwarya Rajesh plays an urban girl. A specially trained fish named Kattapa, plays an important role in the movie.

Exploring concepts like luck and chance, the movie has an “open-ending”, validating neither option. Actor Vijay Sethupathi is said to be making his voice-acting debut by dubbing for this animation character. The director also confirmed that the scenes with the fish were mostly shot live and had minimal Computer Generated (CG) effects.
