The first-look poster of National Award winning filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy’s Kanne Kalaimane is out. The film stars Tamannaah Bhatia and Udhayanidhi Stalin in the lead roles.
Going by the poster, Tamannaah has shed her glamorous avatar and is seen playing a traditional, married woman. Udhayanidhi, on the other hand, comes across as his usual self. Tamannaah will reportedly be playing the role of a bank manager and Udhayanidhi plays a farmer in this social drama.
While this is the first time Tamannaah and Udhayanidhi are sharing screen space, the film marks the actress’ second venture with Seenu, after Dharma Durai, which had Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role.
Seenu Ramasamy had earlier mentioned that the title of the film was a tribute to his mentor late filmmaker Balu Mahendra. The title is named after the famous song from Balu’s film Moondram Pirai (Sadma).

Apart from Tamannaah and Udhay, the film also features a few new faces. Music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja while Vairamuthu will pen the lyrics.
