Director Ranjith, who has been shooting Kaala with the Superstar for the past one month in Mumbai, will be wrapping up the schedule on June 29. Major action sequences in the locales of Dharavi were shot in the Mumbai schedule, and reportedly, a huge set is currently being erected on the outskirts of Chennai for the next.

A source told Silverscreen, “It has been very challenging for Ranjith and his team to shoot on the busy streets of Mumbai with Rajini. They are currently shooting in live locations there. After canning a major portion of the film, they are winding up on June 29. The next schedule, which will begin in the middle of July, will be in Chennai. They are planning to shoot in the set, which will be a replica of some of the localities of Dharavi, Mumbai. A massive set-work is currently going on for Kaala in a film city on the outskirts of Chennai.”
The film has a star cast including Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, Anjali Patil and Easwari Rao.
