Indrajith Sukumaran Admits To Being “Bowled Over” By Karthick Naren’s ‘Naragasooran’

Malayalam actor Indrajith Sukumaran, who will be making his Tamil debut as the lead with Karthick Naren’s Naragasooran, confessed that the 21-year-old director’s script was one of the best movie scripts he had come across in recent times. Speaking to The Times of India, Indrajith said that he waited for a while to make his Tamil debut despite many offers. He had earlier played supporting roles in Sarvam (2009) and En Mana Vaanil (2002).

“I had been getting several offers from Tamil over the years. But I always felt that when you step into another industry, you need something substantial. This was something I liked from the word go, the thread, the theme and the character,” he said, adding that discussions on the movie had been going on for a few months now.

“Karthick told me the basic thread of the film and later sent me the script. I was bowled over,” he said.

The actor recently confirmed being the latest addition to Naragasooran‘s cast. The other leads in the film are Arvind Swamy and Shriya Saran. Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya was also supposed to be a part of the cast, but walked out citing date issues.

The film’s script reportedly revolves around four characters, with each having equal screen space. The movie will be bankrolled by Gautham Menon for Ondraga Entertainment.

Indrajith’s latest release is Lakshyam, scripted by Jeethu Joseph. His upcoming movies include Tiyaan, in which he plays the lead along with actor and brother Prithviraj. Tiyaan is slated for a June release.
