After making his debut with the Sundeep Kishen starrer Maayavan, Thirukumaran Entertainment’s CV Kumar will now direct Gangs Of Madras. This is Kumar’s second film as director.
Kumar is excited to be at the helm of a film again and says that his new film will capture the true spirit of Madras. Ask him if the film is yet another shot at portraying Madras gangsters and Kumar laughs. “It will be different, that’s for sure. The best thing about our industry is that we will all find our own space with the audience.”

Kumar refuses to comment on speculations that the film is about a female gangster. “It’s too early to confirm,” he says.
At present, Kumar is hard at work on the film’s music. Hari Dafusia is the music composer. Kumar is impressed by Dafusia’s work and says that the music for the movie will have a quirky aesthetic.
Amzath, Kalaiarasan, Bhagavathi Perumal are all reportedly a part of this film. It is expected to go on floors this July.
