Celebrities Pay Tribute As Jayalalitha Passes Away

A flurry of celebrities shared their sadness at the passing of TN CM Jayalalitha. The actress-turned-politican succumbed to her illness at a private hospital in Chennai late on December 5, 2016. She was 68.

President Pranab Mukherjee expressed his heartfelt condolences as well

Former Nadigar Sangam President Sarath Kumar, an important ally of Jayalalitha, also took to Twitter to share his sadness at her passing.

Nagarjuna remembered how his father Nageswar Rao spoke about Jayalalithaa. The duo had acted together in a few films.

Pawan Kalyan, actor and leader of the Jana Sena Party released a message of condolence.

The Telugu film artistes association MAA held a memorial service in Hyderabad

Jayalalitha’s body will be kept at Rajaji Hall in Chennai so that people can pay their last respects. A seven day mourning period has been announced, following which Jayalalitha will be cremated with State honours.
