The producers of Balloon have written to the Tamil Film Producers Council alleging that lead actor Jai’s unprofessional behaviour has resulted in a huge monetary loss and sought a payment of Rs 1.5 crore from the actor.
The complaint filed by producers K Nandakumar and TN Arun Balaji stated that Jai delayed the production schedule and harassed director Sinish, who also tried to commit suicide.
“Hard work, dedication, respect, obedience, keeping promises are not the characteristics of actor Jai. From shooting spot to dubbing, Jai tortured us so much that director Sinish tried to commit suicide in Kodaikanal. We the producers, and the other crew members bear witness to the fact,” the complaint read, according to The Hindustan Times.
Balloon is a horror film directed by debutant Sinish, starring Jai, Anjali and Janani Iyer. The film is produced by TN Arun Balaji and Kandasamy Nandhakumar of 70 MM Films, along with stunt choreographer-turned-actor Dhilip Subbarayan of Farmer’s Master Plan Production. The technical crew includes cinematographer R Saravanan, editor Ruben, stunt choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan, dance choreographer Sherif, costume designer NJ Sathya, and art director Shakthi Venkataraj.
