Music composer Anirudh Ravichander performed to a much-enthused crowd at the BBC Asian Network Live in London this weekend, representing Tamil music at the festival. One of the 10 performers at the event, he sang upbeat versions of his popular songs.

The composer and singer, who rose to fame with ‘Why This Kolaveri’, sung by Dhanush for the film 3 (2012), began his performance at Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith, in London with one from his recent compositions, ‘Remo Nee Kadhalan’ from Remo, along with ‘Aaluma Doluma’ from Vedalam (2015), and ‘Why This Kolaveri’.

Anirudh, whose recent release ‘Onnum Aagala’ was featured as one of the best of the week by Apple music, had performed along with DJ Snakes at the recently held Sunburn festival in Chennai last week.
This year, the BBC Asian Network Live had 10 line-ups, bringing in fusion Punjabi rap and Tamil beats to the event. Other performers were Jazzy B, who is known as the ‘Crown Prince of Bhangra’, rapper Badshah, who is famous for his song ‘Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai’ from Sultan, record producer Shahid Khan aka Naughty Boy, East London based music producer and songwriter Steel Banglez, singer, songwriter and producer Zack Knight, California-based Punjabi singer and songwriter Jasmine Sandlas, singer Aastha Gill, best-known for her song ‘Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai’ from Khoobsurat, Canadian rapper and songwriter Fateh, and Arjun Kanungo, a singer from Mumbai.
