While Ajith Kumar is busy shooting for the final schedule of the film in outdoor locations across Mumbai, the shoot for Petta has been wrapped up 15 days ahead of time. Petta was originally scheduled to be released much later but given that shooting has wrapped up earlier, it will likely release at the same time as Viswam. It seems that both films are regular mass entertainers and don’t need much work in the post-production stage.

In a report in India Today producer TG Thyagarajan, while speaking at a promotional event said, “Viswasam’s shooting is progressing at a brisk pace and is nearing completion. We have planned to release the film for Pongal 2019 and I need his fans to support us. I’m sure Viswasam will outdo your expectations and emerge as a winner.”

A report in International Business Time says that the trade trackers are expecting a gap of at least three days between the releases of both movies to ensure collections are not heavily impacted.
