Aishwarya Rajesh Replaces Trisha Krishnan In Saamy Square

The character of Bhuvana, which was originally played by Trisha Krishnan in Saamy, will now be reprised by Aishwarya Rajesh in the upcoming sequel. The actor has joined the cast of Saamy Square, announced a tweet from the production house.

Trisha, who was part of the original, walked out of the film citing creative difference. Aishwarya was brought in as her replacement.

Director Hari told Silverscreen that Aishwarya has done justice to the role. “Aishwarya has brought Bhuvana to life. She has seamlessly blended into Saamy’s life and you won’t realise that the character was originally played by another actress.”

He said that the shooting for the film will wrap up soon, following which post-production work will begin.

According to sources, Aishwarya will be seen in the flashback portions of the film. Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead in this film. Earlier, it was reported that Vikram would reprise the character of Aarusaamy, a rigid police officer battling corruption, from the original film and the second character will be a younger Vikram, who too is a police officer.

The recently released trailer of the film was heavily criticised for its misogynistic portrayal where Vikram’s character is seen slapping Keerthy Suresh. The whole scene was meant to evoke hilarity, but that’s hardly the case.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rajesh has a few interesting projects lined up this year. She has wrapped up shooting her scenes for Mani Ratnam’s upcoming multi-starrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. In Vada Chennai, she plays the character of Padma – the love of Anbu’s (Dhanush) life. The actress is also a part of Arunraja Kamaraj’s directorial debut on women’s cricket. The film is being produced by Sivakarthikeyan.
