’60 Vayadhu Maaniram’ Trailer: Prakash Raj Reprises The Role Of The Brilliant Anant Nag

Director Radha Mohan tries to recreate Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu for the Tamil audience through 60 Vayadhu Maaniram. To this end, he tasks Prakash Raj and Vikram Prabhu with bringing to life the lead roles – a missing father and a desperate son, respectively. Vikram Prabhu is on edge as the son in search of his father – a man who seems to have escaped from a care facility. An Alzheimer’s patient out on the streets is a scary prospect, and this forms the crux of the story.

Prakash Raj is Govindharaj, a father who explains the age-old good vs evil idea using two dogs – black and white. This concept was used in the Kannada trailer as well, but here, it doesn’t quite evoke the same effect the original did.

Indhuja, of Meiyaadha Maan and Mercury fame, is also a part of the film. She plays Govindharaj’s caregiver, and joins the search when he goes missing. But much of the trailer is dedicated to the father-son duo and Indhuja’s presence is rarely felt. The film also stars Samuthirakani.

Radha Mohan has executed a coup of sorts by bringing Ilaiyaraaja to compose music. The score takes a backseat in the trailer, as is appropriate, but the music does make its presence felt once the dialogues come to a stop.

Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu starred Anant Nag who made quite the impression as a man slowly losing his sanity. Directed by Hemanth Rao, the film was a critical and commercial success.

Director Radha Mohan, meanwhile, has wrapped up Kaatrin Mozhi – a remake of the Hindi film Tumhari Sulu – starring Jyothika. The first look of film was released earlier today; it is scheduled to hit theatres on October 18.

60 Vayadhu Maaniram is expected to release later this month. V Creations’ Kalaipuli S Thanu will distribute the project.
