K Bala, District Secretary, of the right-wing group HMK has been fined for filing a frivolous case against Kamal Haasan. The petition had objected to Haasan’s remarks on the Indian epic ‘Mahabharata’ to a private TV channel. The petition, filed on March 24, had demanded maximum punishment for actor Kamal Haasan in addition to a fine. Strongly criticising the petitioner for wasting the court’s time with frivolous petitions, the bench ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 10,000.
