Fans take the First Day First Show of their star latest, Vijay’s Bairavaa, very seriously. Young men armed with milk packets and (leftover Diwali?) pattasu took over Kasi Theatre in the early hours of January 12. The residents didn’t mind, for they’re used to this sort of behaviour by now.
Surrounded by tall cutouts of Vijay, fans took selfies, burst crackers, and generally indulged in the sort of revelry usually reserved for Friday night parties.
It was all in good fun though. For their star had issued a request to celebrate the release of his film in a ‘peaceful and dignified manner’.
The jury is out on the film, but from the looks of this FDFS celebration, the fans certainly loved it.
