Zakariya Of ‘Sudani From Nigeria’ Announces His Next, To Be Co-Produced by Aashiq Abu

Zakariya who directed one of the most acclaimed Malayalam films of 2018, Sudani From Nigeria, has announced his second film, titled ‘Halal Love Story‘. The film features Joju George, Indrajith Sukumaran, Grace Antony and Sharaffuddeen in the lead roles.

Halal Love Story has cinematography by Ajay Menon, and editing by Saiju Sreedharan, who is also credited as one of the co-producers of the film, and music by Bijibal and Shahabas Aman.

The film is produced by Aashiq Abu, Jesna Ashim and Harshad Ali. This is the second production announced by Aashiq this month. Last week, we said that he, along with his actor-wife Rima Kallingal, will produce Muhsin Parari’s next film, titled Thallumala. The film, starring Tovino Thomas and Soubin Shahir in the lead roles, is co-written by Ashraf Hamsa who directed Thamasha (2019). Muhsin was the co-writer of Sudani From Nigeria, and both he and Zakariya were part of Aashiq’s directorial, Virus (2019). Muhsin was the co-screenwriter of Virus, and Zakariya played a pivotal role in the film which had an ensemble cast.

Grace Antony, who made her debut with Omar Lulu’s Happy Wedding, rose to fame through Kumbalangi Nights (2019), directed by Madhu C Narayanan. She was also seen in Thamasha. Joju, Indrajith and Sharafuddeen were part of the cast of Virus.
