Master auteur Woody Allen has, finally, moved over films, and is trying digital film making for the first time in his career. His 47th film, starring Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively and Jeannie Berlin, has been shot using a Sony CineAlta F65 camera. The untitled movie went on the floors in August in New York and Los Angeles. Actors like Jesse Eisenberg, Parker Posey, Corey Stoll, Ken Stott and Steve Carell are also part of the movie.

According to reports, academy award-winning camera man Vittorio Storaro was the one who convinced the 80-year-old film maker to shoot in digital. In May, Allen had indicated at the Cannes Festival that he might switch to digital for his next film.

The F65 is Sony’s top of the range digital camera, which has been used by the Oscar winning cinematographer Claudio Miranda to shoot Oblivion and Tomorrowland.
