This weekend, Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja, Suttu Pudika Utharavu and Game Over (in Telugu and Hindi too) release in Tamil, Unda in Malayalam, and Khamoshi in Hindi.

The Tamil version of Khamoshi, Kolaiyuthir Kaalam, starring Nayanthara, was also scheduled to release, but was postponed.

Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja

Sivakarthikeyan’s second production venture, directed by Karthik Venugopalan, stars RJ Rio Raj, Shirin Kanchwala, RJ Vigneshkanth, Mayilswamy, Bijili Ramesh, VJ Siddhu and others in important roles. The film is a satire centering on the lives of YouTube pranksters. The film has music by Shabir, cinematography by Senthil Kumar and editing by Fenny Oliver. The song ‘Internet Pasanga’ from the film has gone viral.

Karthik says in a report by In.com, “The journey of the film has been a mixed bag of fun, energy and emotions. We loved each and every day of shaping this film, which is a satire laced with fun and a social message too. While narrating the script to Sivakarthikeyan, I was slightly doubtful about whether he would give his approval. But, the way he enjoyed my narration instilled more confidence in me.”

Suttu Pudika Utharavu

The action film stars Vikranth and Athulya Ravi in the lead, alongside director Suseenthiran, who is making his acting debut, and director Mysskin. The film is directed by Ram Prakash Rayappa. Sujith Sarang is the cinematographer, G Ramarao is the editor. The music is by Jakes Bijoy, production by Kalpatharu Productions.

The trailer shows Mysskin playing a police officer, and as per reports, Suseenthiran and Vikranth are employees at a security firm. According to a press statement, the movie was shot using a hand-held camera and no other equipment was used. “Almost 80% of the movie was shot in natural light; there will be no proper composition, framing, lighting and movements. The script was treated more like a candid or guerrilla filmmaking with random movements.”

Game Over

Game Over stars Taapsee Pannu in the lead. The film is directed by Ashwin Saravanan who made his debut with Maya in 2015, and co-written by Kaavya Ramkumar. Vinodhini Vaidynathan and Anish Kuruvilla have important roles. Music is by Ron Ethan, cinematography by A Vasanth, and editing by Richard Kevin. The film will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Speaking to Hans India, Taapsee said in an interview, “The film is basically about house invasion, but the script has many layers to it. For the first time, India is seeing such a movie. Even the shooting of the film is designed like a video game. The youth will truly connect with this film, you see me moving in my house just like a video game character.”

Unda

The film is a comedy-entertainer directed by Khalid Rahman, starring Mammootty as a sub-inspector. The film’s cast includes Shine Tom Chacko, Sudhi Koppa, Jacob Gregory, Dileesh Pothan, Alencier and Omkar Das Manikpuri. Stuntman Sham Kaushan has choreographed the action scenes. Music is by Prashanth Pillai, and cinematography by Sajith Purushan.

Speaking to CE, Sham Kaushan said, “This is not a larger-than-life story; it’s honest with realistic situations and, naturally, demanded real action. There is nothing over-the-top. The whole thing takes place in one location. What will happen when a few men are pitted against many? That’s the essence of the conflict here.”

Khamoshi

Khamoshi is a horror-thriller starring Tamannaah Bhatia and Prabhu Deva, directed by Chakri Toleti. Bhumika Chawla and Sanjay Suri play important roles. Music is by Shamir Tandon and Satya Manik Afsar, cinematography by Cory Geryak, and editing by Shakti Hasija. Shruti Haasan sang one of the songs. The movie is a remake of the 2016 American film Hush.

In an interview with FirstPost, Tamannaah, who plays a woman with a hearing disability in the film, said, “What I really liked was that Chakri didn’t try to commercialise the film just because it had Prabhu sir and me. There is no song or dance routine. Chakri kept it very authentic, and the treatment of the script is quite international. I’ve never played a character like this before in my career, and the situation that she finds herself in is quite interesting.”
