Popular television anchor, Ramya, has been approached for a prominent role in Manimaran’s next film, Sanga Thalaivan, which is bankrolled by Vetri Maaran.
A source told Silverscreen, “The director had narrated the script to her and she liked it. She has now agreed to be a part of the film though she has not yet officially signed on the film. According to the script, she will play the mother of a five year-old. The film is set in a village.”
Samuthirakani is the hero of this film and Karunaas will play a pivotal role. This film is about the life of handloom weavers. Samuthirakani will essay the role of a union leader, hence the title, Sanga Thalaivan. The shoot is scheduled to commence from November 15.
Though she is busy with television projects, Ramya is taking it slow when it comes to films. She was last seen in a key role in Mani Ratnam’s OK Kanmani. She was also rumoured to be a part of Roshan Andrews’ upcoming Malayalam film.
