Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam 2 Nears Completion
Sequel to Kamal Haasan’s 2013 spy thriller, Vishwaroopam, has neared its completion. Currently shooting is going on at Chennai’s Officers Training Academy, the team is about to complete the last stint of shoot. The actor even shared photos of himself and the team.

Actress Andrea Jeremiah, who will reprise her role as Ashmitha Subramanian, shared a photo of herself with Haasan too.

Directed by Haasan himself, the film, after much delay, has been scheduled for a January 26 release.

Padmavati Row: LK Advani Wants CBFC To Do Its Job

At the meeting mandated by the parliamentary panel on Thursday between Padmavati‘s director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the CBFC culminated in BJP veteran LK Advani wondering why the censor board wasn’t doing its job. “Let the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) do its job,” he was quoted as saying.

Seeking time to submit written response to several questions, Bhansali told the members that the film was based on a poem (by Malik Mohammad Jayasi), reports The Indian Express. The panel then decided to give the director “at least two weeks” before deciding on whether to call him again.
Bhansali was asked three key questions: Can a filmmaker depict the banned practice of ‘Sati’? Can a film be released abroad before it is cleared for screening in India? Is a selective media screening of a movie without a CBFC clearance fair and ethical?
Some reports suggest that the film could release on January 12.
Rana Daggubati, Prabhu Solomon To Collaborate For The Trilingual Version Of Haathi Mere Saathi

Rana Daggubati and director Prabhu Solomon are reportedly set to collaborate for the remake of the 1971 film Haathi Mere Saathi. The film will release in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu and will go into production in January 2018.
Incidentally, Prabhu had directed another film that explored the relationship between an elephant and a mahout – Kumki (2012) starring Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon. In September this year, it was announced that Prabhu has started work on Kumki 2, but it isn’t clear if this project with Daggubati is the same as the sequel to his 2012 film.
