Vishnu Vishal is likely to sign up for his next film with director Vasanthabalan. The movie will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions, and official announcements may be made in a month’s time.

Director Vasanthabalan spoke to Silverscreen and said, “We have approached Vishnu Vishal and talks are on between the producers, him and me. The news has come out already, but nothing is confirmed yet, although the talks are positive.” It has been reported that the project may begin after Vasanthabalan completes the post-production work for his upcoming film Jail, featuring GV Prakash in the lead.

Vishnu Vishal also confirmed that talks for the project were in final stages. The actor is currently under rest for a spine injury he suffered three months back while shooting for the action entertainer Kaadan, directed by Prabhu Solomon. He told Silverscreen that he has almost recovered and will be back to shoot in the first week of next month.

“The injury has recovered almost 98 percent, but the muscles in my back are still a bit weak. So I’m doing some strengthening for it, and this month is for me to get back to normal.” He also responded to reports regarding his three film deal with the Bollywood production house Viacom 18, saying, “Official announcements will come soon from us or Viacom.”

The Silukkuvaarpatti Singam and Ratsasan actor is known for his great choice of scripts. He recently signed a film co-starring his friend and actor Vikranth. The screenplay and dialogues for the movie will be written by Vijay Sethupathi, and direction is by Vikranth’s brother Sanjeev.

Vishnu Vishal earlier told Silverscreen that this will be a sports film and both he and Vikranth will be undergoing four months of training. He also refuted rumours that the film was based on football, with a story set in North Madras. Pre-production work is currently on, and shoot will begin four to five months from now, after he recovers from the injury and is fit for training.
