Vishal has started shooting for his upcoming film to be directed by Sundar C. The movie, which features Tamannaah in a prominent role, also marks the Tamil debut of Malayalam actress Aishwarya Lekshmi.
Speaking to Silverscreen, the official spokesperson for Vishal said “The team has just started shooting in Turkey. The schedule will last for 50 days.” The movie, produced by Trident Arts, marks the third collaboration between Vishal and the director after Aambala and Madha Gadha Raja.
It was previously reported that Tamannaah would be seen in a negative role in the movie. The actress said her character was someone with physical and mental strength, and it was challenging to prepare for it. “There is a lot of mastery required in mind games, even when you’re playing them on-screen and that’s something that doesn’t come very easily to me. In reality, I’m quite the opposite… so getting into this character will be quite intimidating,” she was quoted as saying by Midday.
The release date of the yet-to-be-titled movie has not been fixed. “There will be clarity on the release date only towards the subsequent stages of shooting,” the spokesperson added.
Aishwarya Lekshmi, best known for her role as Aparna in Maayanadhi, makes her Tamil debut with the movie. News regarding her Tamil debut emerged as early as September last year. The actress was appreciated for her performance in last year’s Fahadh Faasil starrer Varathan. Argentina Fans Kattoorkkadavu, in which she is paired opposite Kalidas Jayaram is currently playing in theatres.
Meanwhile, Vishal awaits the release of Ayogya on April 19. The movie has been directed by debutant Venkat Mohan, a former assistant of AR Murugadoss.
Jointly produced by Vishal Film Factory and Tagore Madhu, Ayogya is a remake of the Telugu film Temper which was recently remade into Hindi as Simmba with Ranveer Singh. Raashi Khanna is the female lead in the movie. R Parthiepan, KS Ravikumar, Sachu, Vamsi and Pooja play other roles. Sam CS is the music composer, R Karthik is the DOP, and Ruben is the editor.
