Vineeth Sreenivasan Backs Actor Accused Of Sexual Harrassment

Actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan, through a Facebook post, has voiced support for actor Sreejith Ravi who has been arrested by the police for allegedly misbehaving with school children.

“From my experience working with Sreejith ettan, he is a very well behaved gentleman unlike the characters he has portrayed. He doesn’t even use a single abusive word. I strongly believe he is innocent. Whoever has misbehaved with the kids should get severely punished.. Truth should come out..,” said Vineeth in the FB post.

The 40-year-old Sreejith Ravi was detained for questioning by the police after 15 students from Palakkad alleged that he flashed his private parts to them near a school on August 27. He has been booked under Protection Of Children From Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). According to the complainants, a man stopped his Renault Duster car near them, flashed himself and even tried to take photos of some girls. The man drove away after the girls shouted at him. Though the students had not named the actor in their complaint, they mentioned the vehicle number that belonged to the actor. Later, The students, reportedly, identified Sreejith at an identification parade using photographs.

However, Sreejith, son of veteran actor TG Ravi, has denied the allegations. Claiming that it was not him who flashed the children, Sreejith told the police that though the vehicle number mentioned in the complain belonged to his car, the students might have made a mistake while noting it down.

The actor was arrested on Friday, and Palakkad additional district sessions court granted him conditional bail on the same day.

Sreejith Ravi, an engineer graduate from National Institute Of Technology, began his acting career in 2005. He is known for his roles in films like Punyalan Agarbatties, Memories and Kadha Thudarunnu.
