Vinayakan is set to be part of director Kamal’s new movie. The shooting for the movie will begin on February 1 in Lakshwadeep.
Marking the coming together of the actor and director, the yet-to-be-titled movie will feature mostly newcomers and is touted to be a teenage romance. Known for working with newcomers occasionally, Kamal has launched actors like Dileep, Bhavana, Siddharth Bharathan through his movies.
According to reports, the shooting for his new movie will also happen in Kochi for a duration of 10 days. The Lakshwadeep leg will last for 30 days. The director has also written the script for the movie. In the past, he has written the script for his movies such as Krishnagudiyil Oru Pranayakalathu, Meghamalhar, Celluloid and his latest movie Aami based on the life of the renowned writer Kamala Surayya.
Meanwhile, Vinayakan has multiple movies lined up for release this year. Never a stranger to Tamil cinema, the Kammattipadam actor will be appearing in Gautham Menon’s Vikram starrer Dhruva Natchathiram. He will reportedly be playing one of the main antagonists in the film. A long-delayed project, Dhruva Natchathiram will see the actor sharing screen with actors like Simran, Aishwarya Rajesh and Parthibhan and is slated for release this year. In the past, Vinayakan has been part of Tamil movies like Maryan and Silambattam.
The other big project of the actor is Anwar Rasheed’s Trance. Starring Fahadh Faasil in the lead, the movie is slated for release soon. Fahadh Faasil had recently called the movie ‘the biggest one’ of his career.
Vinayakan will be playing the titular character in Gopakumar GK’s Karinthadan. About the movie, the director said “I envision Karinthandan to not be limited to Kerala alone; I plan for it to be a pan-Indian movie. The film, which will be made by Hollywood standards, will feature many actors from different film industries. A Canadian company has already agreed to be a part of the movie’s production. The discussions are in the final stage and the estimated budget is almost Rs 60 crore.”
