Kadaram Kondan Team Wraps Up Malaysia Leg Of Shooting

Vikram At The Saamy Square Audio Launch

Kadaram Kondan starring Vikram has finished shooting a month-long schedule in Malaysia. Rajesh M. Selva, the director of the movie, took to twitter to make the announcement.

Produced by Kamal Hassan under the banner of Raaj Kamal Films International, Kadaram Kondan stars Akshara Haasan as the female lead. The producer had earlier shared a first look poster of the movie.

The first look poster that featured a silhouette of the Petronas Twin Towers and the title containing the word Kadaram – a region in Malaysia that was previously ruled by a Chola king – had all hinted at the country playing a substantial role in the plot. The director’s tweet has confirmed this.

Rajesh M Selva has in the past directed Kamal Haasan in Thoongavanam. Ghibran – a Kamal Haasan regular- scores the music for the movie. Though there were reports about the movie being a remake of the 2016 Hollywood film Don’t Breathe starring Stephen Lang, the actor was quick to deny them.

Vikram’s last two movies – Sketch and Saamy Square had performed dismally at the box office. He is currently awaiting the release of Gautham Menon’s much-delayed project Dhruva Natchathiram in which he will share the screen with Simran, Parthiban and Aishwarya Rajesh.

Akshara Haasan who debuted alongside Dhanush and Amitabh Bachchan in 2015’s Shamitabh was last seen in Ajith’s 2017 movie Vivegam. Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan has Sabhash Naidu in the pipeline, after the completion of which he’ll start shooting for Shankar’s Indian 2.

Directed by Shankar, Indian 2, the pre-production for which has already begun, will go on floors from December 3. The movie is supposed to be one of the final projects that the actor will shoot for before making the dive into politics. Thevar Magan 2 is the only other film that the actor has announced as of now.

In Indian 2, the actor will be seen reprising the role of Senapathy from the original.
