The actor, who has produced films such as Orange Mittai, Merku Thodarchi Malai and Junga, said that it’s not necessary to fund films of same genre. In an interview with The New Indian Express, he said, “It’s not necessary to keep funding similar films. The previous two films were different from each other, and Junga is different from both.”

Sethupathi, who is very choosy about his films, told the paper that he doesn’t sign films to increase the count but for their scripts. He also added saying that most of the films he does are the scripts which he refused in the beginning owing to date issues.

Talking about Seethakaathi, he said that he never does anything different for the sake of being different and also said that people shouldn’t expect that from him. The actor also said that he is open to changes and doesn’t like to restrict himself to a circle.

Recently a new video was shared by the team of Balaji Tharaneetharan’s Seethakaathi that featured Sethupathi as a septuagenarian theatre artiste, one of the two characters he plays in the film.

Talking about his other projects, Sethupathi said that 96 is a film with a majestic and dignified love story, while Seethakaathi is a beautiful script and the actor considers it as a blessing to act in the film. He also said that Super Deluxe is an experience that can be summed up in two words: Thiagarajan Kumararaja (the film’s director), where the actor will be seen playing the role of a transgender.
