According to CE, the director had approached both Vijay Sethupathi and Dr Rajashekhar for the part. “The director has approached both actors with the offer but is yet to get a nod from either of them. The makers are confident that one of them will accept the antagonist’s role. Currently, Buchi Babu is working on the final version of the script,” a source had previously said. Sethupathi’s participation has now been confirmed.

A DC report mentioned that the makers decided to offer the role to them to make the movie relatable to the viewer. “The filmmakers have not zeroed in on any particular star as of now, however, they are keen to cast a familiar face so that it elevates the film’s appeal,” said another source.

Vijay Sethupathi is set to make his Telugu debut with Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. The actor will reportedly play lead Chiranjeevi’s close aide in the film. According to a report, the Tamil actor will play Obayya, a trusted aide of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
